To be a better ME

I always have this problem with me. The way I look at people.

Sometime people would mistakenly thought that i stare at them (not in a good way), but actually i was looking at them with my mind goes blank/thinking something else. But i would like to make a change.

I realised it during my practical in Sabah where the farm manager actually asked me why would I stare at him in a unfriendly way. (He is young, and only few years older than me, so it was more like a friend chat rather than accusing me) SO I ask around, and only I realised how annoying the way I look at people. It's kinda fierce.

SOOO, i was thinking could it be like this!

Damn suspicious. *actually i was looking at 9gag and this make me laugh*
*what's your problem!*

Or maybe it's a very suspicious look that may people feel annoyed.
*I know you did something! just admit it!*
 Or maybe even worse~!
*YOU OWE ME SOMETHING!*

Or maybe I have "Haki" just like Luffy. =P

I actually didn't even know that until I enter university. Maybe I also stare at my secondary school friends like that, just that they know me better that I didn't mean it.

Anyway, I know people don't like that, and I would like to make a change. Treat people the way you want to be treated. So, I keep reminding myself.

Here is the checklist to be better me.
This is the actual ME! "Did you just said I'm cute?! Stop it~~~*
  1. Don't stare at people
  2. Smile more
  3. Greet more
  4. Don't care who is the one start the conversation. You never know a person well unless you become a friend of his or her. Don't judge a book from its cover, who knows he or she could be one of your close friends.  *One of my bestfriend was actually someone i really don't like/ hate because I think she was such a arrogant jackass, but end up be my besttie. The funny thing is she also thought i'm the arrogant jackass* *WAIT, does that mean it all started as early as during secondary school? the unfriendly way of looking at other people?! HAIH*
  5. OK, then Don't act like arrogant jackass.
  6. Don't walk like a gangster. *it's really hard for me to change that because I've been walking like that for 20 years, but I would try. No harm trying, right? >.<*
  7. Don't gossip. *it's too hard... maybe reduce bit?? =P*
  8. Be optimistic! just like him!

There is a lot more, but take a break.. step by step. haha.

If I ever stare at you, I'm sorry, i didn't mean it. (exception to the people annoy me.haha. Joking la, If I dislike that person, I would choose reduce conversation, rather than stare at him.. stare at people would increase wrinkles around eyes, not worth it to stare at people that I dislike. haha *idiot me*)

oooooosh! don't give up!

Long live in memory

You know you are not just gone with your heart stop beating.

Forgive us opt to do this, but it would be the best for you rather see you suffer.

I'm not your owner, you are not my pet. But you've been living in my life since I'm in college. Can trace the evidence of you living with us and your beloved owner still not yet want to remove all that traces that would remind her that you were living with her. I wish I could tell her that time,
even without all that things, we would never forget of you, because you live in our memory that would last till we step in grave.
Tears running down and ruin the chance of me to tell her this and cheer her up. Sorry.

The house is more quiet without you, less cheerful without you. Time will heal the wound and form the scar in heart but doesn't mean that we would forget you. We would be stronger without you be with us, but we know you are watching us from the heaven. (i'm glad that you are not my pet because if you are, you would be Buddhist and have to enter the cycle again, be animal or human, *if you are good enough or lucky enough---be dewa* that you are destined to be, and suffer again, life is suffering)

Thank you, Smokey, for every cheers, every grudge (especially during exam time that we all suffer in study while you sit on our notes or sleep or eat or play), every small little things in memory that would make us smile (such as falling from the bed *stupid cat*). And thank you, God, bring her to us, and have her with you now.

Bless us, to be vets with knowledge and empathy.

and to the owner if you happen to see this post, we know Smokey is irreplaceable, but we are here for you. You did a great job as a owner. Life is precious because it has an end that we couldn't avoid. And for years, she's been living great with all the care from you and us.
To cheer you up, I give you this!

*what just happened?*
*who are you?*
Haha. Hope it can make you laugh.

Long live Smokey.
and rest in peace.

With love,
Chia Lin

Pro-kasih

Saturday is usually a day not wake up earlier than 10am (or maybe 11am), and I was already in the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine waiting for 40 young n naive students from a secondary school to visit and join the Pro-kasih Program.

Pro-kasih is actually a program organised mainly by us, the DVM students with the guiding and supervision under lecturers who are veterinary surgeons as well. =D *bangganya* What we do is not only apply the catch-neuter and release program of stray animals but also educating the public more about neutering and animal care.
Even though so far we only manage to catch-neuter-release the stray cats in upm, this year mainly in K17 under permission, (The comitee also  gave talks and program about Pro-kasih in the college as well.), and hopefully this program would go on. =D People always say, education is the only solution that can apply to all the problems. So, educating the young would be a good start, i guess. =D

For the last 2 years i have been joining enumeration, counting the cats in college seventeen. *wanted to post photos of it but couldn't find it* My housemates and roomates, 6 of us joined the enumeration and after 2 years, 6 of us join school education. =D (and for your information, my roomy and I got moved out from that house. =( but still, i always go to their house. =D ) *so irrelevant, ignore please*

These are the young and naive adik.
If you notice one of the adik really pay attention to the talk. *happienya~*

My position in the program is programmer. *kinda cant get rid off the fate being a programmer*
And my Game is taaa-daaaaa...
Parasite!! Answer correctly or u'll get parasite. =D *i personally like the hookworms, tapeworms and fleas* haha. And i was helped by the juniors who are all really talkative or maybe more talkative than me. The game was conducted by them, and i was supervising and I pop-out when there are answers that they couldn't explain to the kids. How many questions did I answer? ........ taaa-daaa, zero. My juniors are well prepared. =D so i started playing and take more photos. =D

Playing wheel chair in post-mortem lecture hall
Take a lot photos especially when official photographer is around. the one at the left, shafiq, with the most moody face is the director of the Pro-kasih program and ignore the middle one. =P

Co-directors for the school education. mehmeh, the man with japanese-look, and Fiqss, the one got her toe injured for the program. Got local anesthesia while cleaning the wound, can imagine how serious it is?

But her sacrifice is definitely worthy with this smile. =D

The school education is a success with kids leave with smile, bring home more knowledge about neutering  and leave us " thank u, akak."

How far I have gone?

Look back of how far i have gone, like what an old woman does. LOL

Start from first year. Got attacked!!!!
*do u believe?* p.s: we should wear boots like the next photo, but that was taken when we were on the way to change back to normal attire. so, that are my slippers and it's already spoiled. =(

In order to learn darting, first u dart the box, then the BUTT! =P

Cleaning the cage and animals in SPCA is something that must be done by all the vet student. P.S: Lucy is cute right?
Learnt Indian dancing and learnt to pose. =P
and that year was like year of indian. My faculty has this tradision which we would organised some sort like a party where staff n students would gather together and each DVM (doctor of veterinary medicine) would have a slot of performance and the winner would get the piala. =D and that yeas was themed Bollywood. so me n my coursemate both dressing like indian girls, where our lecturer obviously din follow the theme. haha

And the year 2009 when my dvm chinese students organised this course nite themed retro nite for the final year students dvm5 to celebrate their final year. and all of them graduated. =D

this is me and some DVM 5 leng lui. In my impression, they r the batch that really can plat till crazy if u join them. this pic as one of the proof. I was DVM 2, they barely know me, but they asked me to act cute with them. Joeanne was the one i refer to if i have any question regarding this course nite. Should address her Dr. Joeanne. haha. (i'm the third from the right, n Dr. J is the fourth)
Dr. Melissa was the VIP and i'm so sorry that a lot of things i didn't organise properly and the event actually ended late than i expected. But i'm really glad that she came n hope she did enjoy. =D

This guy, mai siao siao. check him out, Nigel Chia. One day, he might be on the cover page of bridal design magazine. He didn't give up his dream while studying. he describe himself as a fashion design victim. *what-the-heck* LOL,

These 2 fellows were the one brought me in this course. Thank you. (and that day i was chatting with this guy, and he said they just crap about everything when i asked what actually vet is studying, no matter what i asked, they just say very fun, haih) P.s : i'm here not because of what he said, it's because it's originally what i want. AND they are going to graduate soon =( i'm going to miss them.

I was suppose to write about how far i have gone, but seems like i have digressed from the title.
i was so excited writing about all these. never mind, it's still considered as what i have done, just bit too much about introduction of the ppl. =P

Ok, this blog update until 2010..  would have PART 2. =D

time to back to study again. OOOOOOOOSH!

Sometime you stop a while or slow down your steps, and look back of what you've done, you may realise your life really aint that bad but quite good, because u have the joyful moment. Make a habit viewing back the photos, life is still great. =D

Practical or trip?

Mid sem break finish, spent 1 week at home with parents. When i accidentally bump into neighbours (you know,, it's kinda hard to see neighbours around when u are staying in apartment, where everyone shut their door closed once they get back to home. p.s: door in my house always remain open. =D ), here are the list of questions they would normally ask (according to sequence):
  1. you are the daughter of XXX, right?
  2. still study?
  3. What course?
  4. Holiday now?
  5. after graduate, zo ha mi kang? ( what will be your occupation once you graduate?)
  6. Why not human doctor? (some may sound sarcastic. that's annoying, but i don't really care that much. As long as i'm happy with it.)
Be a vet is one of my goal, and i'm happy that i'm getting nearer to that. =D
But study vet is actually cost more than other course. not only because of the fee, but the expense you are going to spend during practicals, and of course, spend for the trip. =3 Thanks to practical, i went to a lot places, macam cuti-cuti malaysia during my practical.

Fraser hill.. we all look so young. I'm the first one from the left. One Malaysia~ hooray~~
 And SPCA penang.
*ignored this* LOL.

practical in zoo. don't mistakenly take us as techincian, or cleaner. We are GHOST-BUSTER actually. LOL. *kinda look like, right?*

The good thing is close contact with the animals. =D appreciate it!
Cute~

Went to DBKL and pretending myself as jockey. LOL

Went to Kluang, Johor. Had the cheapest sing-k rate there. super cheap~~ this is the photo taken outside the room. They are all my practical groupmates.
Went to Kedah also, and yup, we learnt KUNG FU there. decided to post another about our kung fu journey which is ridiculous. LOL.
Went to sabah, Sandakan, Kudat, Kundasang, KK as well. oh yeah,  Keningau, the place we had our dairy practical, and slurp slurp BBQ.  these were taken at kudat. A place that you should go if u r at sabah. U gotta c the sunset!!it has the best view. compare to penang. LOL.
Don't tell me i look nicer/ better in long hair.. i'm keeping it long. =D

And we also volunteered in Sepilok orangutan. haha, we actually change to ghostbuster-attire once we reach there.

All these photos were taken when i was at first and second year, that's why i look different in the photos and what i actually look like now. Haha. Actually i still have other practical/trip photos, but maybe not this time to upload. Next time la. ^^

when FOOOOOOOD meets EARTHQUAKE

I was suppose to blog 2 days ago, but since earthquake happened at 4pm something, so was really alert by any chance of tsunami happen. Thanks god, nothing happen. =D .... so far. i

Now, I would like to present the food i ate yesterday. Early morning, around 8am, (I'm sorry, Lazy woman) went to Penang Island by ferry. We didn't drive, we WALK.
This is the one that accompany me for this food discovery journey. A snapshot of us=D And this was taken while we're on the ferry. (luckily earthquake didn't happen at that time, imagine, WAVE+Ferry, woah~)

The map roughly shows how far we've gone.. about 6km.  From jetty to Little India and Lebuh Campbell, lastly First Avenue mall which is just next to Komtar. And of course, we choose to take bus instead of walking all the way back to jetty. *lazy*
Among the food we tried, highly recommend 2 places for breakfast in penang island.
The first one is Aik Hoe Dim Sum Restaurant.
6 & 8, Lebuh Carnavon,
10100 George Town, Penang

The famous one already sold out by the time we reach there. and these were what we had ordered. I would say it tastes better than its look. Haha. It's quite nice.
I personally like the bao and Sao Mai. =D

【益和茶楼】
Aik Hoe Dim Sum Restaurant

And we continue our food-discovery-journey. The following one is the DAMN FAMOUS kopitiam! serve Hainam kopia and roti bakar. You know, the typical old style chinese breakfast. Sometimes with half-boiled egg.
He met his colleague there and told us that out beloved Ketua Menteri, Lim Guang Eng ever been there as well. Mai Siao Siao~

I'm a hainamese, so I've been drinking Hainam Kopi since i was a kid. I like Hainam kopi, and it perfectly match with half boiled eggs and roti bakar!

I guess this is the main reason for the long queue. They use Charcoal! I realise any food you used charcoal to cook/fry/boil, it must be famous, eg: char koey teow, charcoal bun and etc.
By the time we reach butterworth, and this is the time where earthquake happened! If i went back to butterworth later, i would had experience the second dizzy feeling caused by earthquake. I experienced once, at 2009, the year of the tsunami happens. According to my mum and dad, they said, table vibrating, dizzy vision. it's roughly the same like last time.

First step

Hi hi.
This is not the first time i blog. Last time i do blog,, can't use the term blog, "post" would be a better and more accurate term to use. I did post something up and with the title simple life (Not really sure with it). but later on i stop writing and why do i start again?

If you are active in fb, or tweeter or any social media, u should be familiar with this video. yup, timothy tiah n Audrey (the fourfeet nine). LOL. after watching this video, I had become a stalker  fan (sounds more friendly) of them. After months of following their blog, I am amazed of how their blog in affecting my thinking/mood. So, here i am, by sharing bits and pieces of my life. Not saying that my life is as great as them, or as motivating or inspiring, i just wish to share.
And, i'm sorry to timothy for his loss. I'm sure your ah gong is proud of you. Rest in peace.

This remind me my grandma and grandpa. (i don't really have memory on my grandpa. because he left before I was born. Anyway, he looks handsome in the picture! ) Yesterday i just visit her. She is getting more healthy and stronger than she was after the orthopedic surgery. In front of my grandma, I'm always the sweet-talker. In my eyes, she is the most pretty grandma, (maybe not as arrogant as Queen Elizabeth.) Haha..

Will talk more about her, maybe not now. haha.
